Welcome! I'm also just starting out, but I believe you will find all

I followed it step by step and it worked perfectly.

That's the one. In summary you type the symbols into a text file 
(you can use any text editor, such as Notepad), and give it a .tls 
extention. Then use AmiQuote to read the list, and grab the quotes. 
AmiQuote does NOT let you choose the destination directory of the 
quotes, but instead puts the data in the folder with the .tls file. 
So if you are grabbing a lot of quotes, make a folder.
