When I took over this list I refused to allow any advertising for any
service or product. Then, I relented a bit and allowed one week per
year
for members to promote whatever they are selling and that seemed
to work out
ok. More recently, (seems to me about a year ago), I
quite a few members
asking to relax the ban for those who are active
contributors to the list.
Since I don't feel this is my list but
rather that I am entrusted to manage
it in the manner that the
majority wishes me to, I began allowing ads from
people who also post
to the forum. Now, we are having a discussion on the
topic again and
that's not only fine, it's a good thing for all of us to
have our say
here since it is *our* list.
So, please allow me to
repeat the simple rules on ads here. If you
sell a product or service and if
you want to advertise that product
or service here, you must be an active
poster who contributes ideas
and your thoughts and opinions on the various
markets to this
list. You may not just send posts with a web site that
contains
information if you *also* sell a product or service at that web
site. Ira, Ben, Clyde and others offer services for sale and as long
as
they follow the guidelines above, they are permitted to mention
their web
sites or services on this list.
If I am not following the wishes of the
majority of our membership,
just let me know what you want and if enough of
you want a change, it
will change. I repeat, it is my duty to run the list
in the manner
the majority of those sub'd to the list wish and I will do my
utmost
to accomplish that.
Good trading,
Bob
