What about currencies? I have finally found a method that works and I have confidence in. Problem is, I have to go back to work for a while to generate some cash and cant trade during the day. The problem with currencies at this point seems to be everyone has different data to some extent. Cant use esignal with ensign becasue I am being told my broker will have different prices. And while the setup is relativelysimple on ensign, its tough to set up on brokers charting package. Makes me nervous that they dont charge commission too.

Wholeheartedly agree....the ES would be my absolute last choice.  And I've gained at least some of the experience that Ira referred to, and it is the last market I look to trade.

Don't trade the E mini to start.   Trade the bonds, the currencies or almost anything else.  Oh! Leave out the NY markets.  I don't know why every new trader feels that the e mini has some magic power for instant riches.  Of the commodities it is the hardest to trade, is effected all of the outside influences, arbs.  and is used by almost every institution to hedge.  Once you are an experienced trader, understand all of idiosyncrasies of the markets and your system and have a handle on your own personality traits, then go to it.

I am newly interested in day trading E-Minis.  I will be a one-lotter.  Can you recommend brokers, hopefully with inexpensive commissions, real time data feed, and a charting package?  Is anyone using the MedVed quote tracker?

I anticipate getting into this slowly to make sure I am comfortable with what I am doing.

Recommendations and advice much appreciated.
