Re: [RT] TS7 problems

Slower opening is definitely a
problem.

Beta testers have a good number of posts on this
problem
and it seemed for a bit that some improvement had
been
made BUT that is not the case.

The worst aspect of the problem is how slow it is
to get to
a menu item such as format indicators.  That
should be
almost instantaneous and it sure as hell is
not.

All the importing of indicators seemed to have been
cleared
with TS7 (was still a problem with TS6) but I guess
there are
some problems that were not
anticipated.

Overall, however, I will stick with TS7 over
TS6.

It is encouraging that TS/Omega is keeping watch
for these
kinds of posts.

  Clyde,

my studies were also transferred with only minor
  problems during switching
from TS6 to TS7, however, when I tried to install
  studies sent to me
from another TS6 next day, I had the
  problems I described.

The same happened when my friend tried to insert
  studies under almost
  identical cicumstances.

The slower opening of the formatting window was
  confirmed by a person
in Tech Supp Escalation which I contacted
and he said he would report it.

And I have over 1000 routines in my library
    which were all
transferred fine from TS6 and also from TS2K as
    a test.

Typically I have about 40 to 60 charts in
    workspaces that are
    open.

I have had none of the problems outlined
    here.

    Seems I should have !

      Subject: [RT] TS7 problems

10 days ago, I switched from TS6 to
TS7 and here are some of the problems I
experienced:

      - Re-opening of workspaces took 7.5 min.
It took 3.5 min in TS6.

      - It took 5 sec to bring up "Format Analysis
      Techniques" which was instantaneous in
      TS6.

      - I imported indicator "X" from TS6 and
installed it. Subsequently, I opened Pwr Editor code
        for<FONT face=Arial
size=2>  indicator "Y", revised it, verified and closed. When I
tried to insert it, I got the message
"Study not verified" with a reference
to indicator "X" which was already installed. When I
        opened the code for
      "Y"  to verify it, the
code was for "Y", but the
      name was that of "X".
Only after deleting "X" from the
program was I able to get "Y" installed.

The same problem was encountered by my friend when 2
      indicators, both verified before,
were imported and one of them was being inserted. Message
      "Study not verified" appeared
and when the code opened, it carried the other
indicator's name. The 1st indicator had to be
deleted for the other to be installed.

      - After opening TS7 in the morning, I
found all price bar charts squeezed into a flat line at the
top of each chart. Only after
      reloading did they go back to normal;

      - Some Pwr Editor windows opened without X in
the upper right corner and they could only be
closed by going to "file, close
      window". It was completely random.

I lost 2 days of trading by struggling
with these problems, finally gave up, went back <FONT face=Arial
      size=2>to TS6 and
wrote to Robert Jones, Mgr of Tech Support. My email was never
      acknowledged.
The same problems still exist as reported yesterday by my
      friend.
