Agreed.
There is plenty of oil to be bought from non middle eastern countries. There is plenty of oil from Africa, South America and Mexico.
True, they are not as sweet (very low sulfur content) as the crude from the middle east; but once the refiners make the adjustment for the higher sulfur content there is little to no difference to my knowledge.
The Saudis are "the" largest financier of terrorism in the world. They have paid billions in protection money over the years. They are not friends of the western nations. They tolerate us because they know they truly have no option. Without the western nations, they will be the broken despot nations they have been for the past 5000 years. They view us as a necessary evil.
I am all for boycotting their oil. I am going to investigate if what is in the previous email is true. If so, I will immediately stop buying oil from middle eastern companies.
This will be tough however because many of the oil companies swap reserves all the time. But I will take my chances.
