There is only one world oil market. If
everyone in the country stopped buying gas completely from all of the
companies who import Saudi oil, then the companies who don't currently buy
Saudi oil would have to start to make up the difference. If I
had an oil well and you refused to buy from me, that would have exactly ZERO
impact on my ability to sell the oil. The "Buy American" movement is
having a similar effect on China's ability to sell goods into our
markets. This plan makes about as much sense as the move a few
years ago to pick one day on which everyone would refuse to
buy gas.
