I am increasingly focusing on matched longs and shorts where one is long
strength and short weakness in roughly equal amounts. I am also focusing on
sector and country ETF's to dampen volatility. Absent major directional
moves, such a portfolio should produce good returns from each component. The
long/short combination should reduce damage if/when huge, news-driven,
volatility spikes occur.
