Best scenario in my opinion Bob is real estate right in your own backyard.
You've got one of the most desirable places on earth right on your doorstep.
You might take it for granted living there full time but to visitors, it's
heaven on earth. So find as the real estate logic goes, the 'worse "house"
in the best location', ie Sanibel or Captiva. There are a ton of baby
boomers which are getting close to that age of 'rest and repose'. Not that
the majority have any money, but there will be enough in my opinion to get
the 'best markets' like Sanibel to continue inflating. Being there yourself
you don't have to worry about the problems of absentee landlordship. You
have at least the one 'Herman Munster' house on the east side of the highway
up close to the bridge which should be able to be 'taken' for a decent
price. After all, with Billy's Rentals huffing and puffing along like it
does, how could you ever lose? :) Jim

Looking for ideas. I just had a guy who owed me $224K at 8%, pay me off
early. I don't want to put it at much risk as I have sufficient resources
in the markets ... can't decide if I want to buy corp bonds or real estate
or blue chips paying a high dividend .. (maybe sell covered calls on
those). Damn guy .. I didn't expect him to have the smarts to do this.
:)))
So, where can I earn 8%+ at little risk? Not much to ask .. is it?
