They already invest it all!  They spend it and then sell bonds to pay the 
retirees... .. so, the fund is just numbers on paper while your money is 
used to run the country.  (And bears no interest to the payees).   If some 
politician really gives a damn about social security,  let him get it back 
out of the general fund, hell, .. get it funded at all and get every social 
program off the back of the fund with the exception of what it was intended 
for, 'retirement'.
