I believe there was a question about what I understood to be the
largest constituent of the S&P 500. By, recollection it is GE which
consists of 3 % of the S&P 500. GM might be up there too.
If you look at a 5 year GE chart and superimpose an S&P 500 chart
over it you will see an almost exact tracing.
So perhaps as GE goes so goes the S&P as a long long time ago it was
as GM goes so goes the country...not.
