I don't think that we need to throw the
baby out with the bath water. There are very many useful replies on
Realtraders in response to members' inquiries about brokers, systems, data
feeds, etc. To ban public replies just to prevent the occasional trolling
attempt seems unreasonable and more like overkill.

The committee would like to reiterate that anything that
looks like an ad for a product or service is going to be treated like an
ad for a product or service and such ads are strictly forbidden on the RT
mail list. From the Real Trader's web site:"Posts advertising
the sale of any products or services are not tolerated in this forum.
Members who post these kind of messages will be removed at the discretion
of the above mentioned committee."If someone asks for an opinion of a
firm or service, it would be advisable to respond directly and privately
to that person.  The need for this policy is obvious.  We can
not have the list turn into a "trolling for customers" forum.  Too
much of all of our email is already nothing but such uninvited
intrusions. We thank you for your understanding and
  cooperation.The RT committeeAt 09:11 PM 6/13/2002
