I would second Earls statements on setting security high. Perhaps one of the
reasons I have not had problems with virus infection is because I also have
the highest security settings in OE. There is a second setting on the
TOOLS>OPTIONS>SECURITY setting which is to "Do not allow attachments to be
opened or saved which could potentially be a virus". I have this checked and
while it can be a little inconvenient sometimes (e.g. will not allow you to
open .doc attachments) it is easily disabled if you do wish to download
something. In general I do not open any attachment which I was not
expecting.

As for the value of AVG vs Norton or whatever this is above my level. I have
used Norton in the past and had problems with it corrupting dlls. My point
is that with enough free possibilities around there is no excuse to be using
NOTHING.
