I use Norton. Norton scans incoming email. When it detects a virus it stops
everything with a large red warning message giving one several choices on
how to handle it. I used to forward them to Symantec but they have become so
swamped that they are not accepting them so I just delete them.

I have the AVG antivirus software. It gave me a warning about each infected
email (there were a number of them on many lists over the last few days).
When the individual email mail message was paged to and was selected the AVG
software put up a warning window.. Despite the fact that I instructed "NO"
do not open it, the virus still downloads in the background in a small
window showing a file downloading. I then had to run a full test to find it
and clean the windows/temp file (or it cleaned it in the automatic test it
does each night). So although AVG was able to "note" it was there, it did
not prevent something for downloading? Is anyone else seeing this happe?
The virus seems to be more like a "self-executing one", as opposed to one
where an exe file must be opened (or both)? I have my OE set at the most
secure settings also as instructed by another knowledgable memeber on this
list. Perhaps AVG is able to isolate it, but it still has infected one's
computer? Not an expert on this stuff so any help would be appreciated.
Beginning to wonder how good the AVG really is?
Attached is a gif of the numerous infections and cleanings and what the
virus was.
