Dan,

Forget Ric, he's a lost cause. As for the guy on the street in L.A., I am
guessing it was Otto Preminger? Per the brief bio below, he was notorious
for abusing the actors he hired. Given that most people in L.A. are looking
to be in the movies, for Otto to be shouting that they are going to hell, is
merely an uplifting message that they were soon to be hired on his next
picture.

Otto Preminger - (1906-86) The Viennese-born director of "Exodus", "Anatomy
of a Murder" and "Laura". He began his career assisting Max Reinhardt in the
theater and later Ernst Lubitsch in Hollywood. His accent and shaved head
led to acting roles as Nazis in several films--including "Stalag 17". Along
the way he fathered a child born to Gypsy Rose Lee. He made a lot of
"turkeys" as well as good films. And he was notorious for mis-treating his
actors. His brother, Ingo, was the producer of the hit film, "MASH".

So, am I right? Who was it? You vill tell me! Ve have our vays you know!

Cheers,

Norman
