I wish I could do that. But once your e-mail gets on a list that is sold
and resold to many spammers, you get bombarded with Spam.

Each day, I receive e-mails about "New Hot Stocks" from a promoter who uses
forged E-mail headers and addresses to prevent you from reporting him/her to
the authorities. He finds open relays through which he sends his
promotions. And then there's Boris who for only US$500 will sell you
several well known charting programs that are "cracked." He works out of
one of the former Soviet Union countries. And I won't bother to tell you
about the spam involving porn or crooked schemes --- the one from Nigeria
is a classic and well known.

Just post to a news group or a list and these folk will eventually get your
e-mail address and pass it on. And when this happens, you'll receive so
many spams that it will take you more than a few seconds to deal with it.

The volume of the spam will force you to make a decision: do I change my
E-mail address or not?

If you decide to change your address, you must spend time changing your
subscriptions, and notifying businesses and friends.

And if you don't change your address, you must spend time setting up filters
to block out the spam --- unless your service (usually the more expensive
ones) recognizes and deletes the spam before it gets to you.

I agree that reading the above E-mail is time consuming, but in my
circumstances, dealing with spam takes up much more of my time.
