By all means register an opinion. FWIW, I maintain registration with the
Direct Marketing Association
(http://www.the-dma.org/consumers/consumerassistance.html) to have my name
kept off phone, mail and email lists and it has worked rather well. The
outrageous part of this "self regulated" list is that DMA charges $5 each to
be put on the do not phone and mail lists even though you enter the
information directly into their database. Rather than fork over the $10. I
print out the phone and mail forms, fill them out, and send them in a single
envelope. The FTC needs to consumer direct database maintenance of phone,
mail, and email lists; not just phone lists.
