I think you're wrong here Todd.  It's true that CNBC is in the news
business, however if investors cease to be interested / excited about
stocks then they will stop watching CNBC and following the news.

If they can't generate excitment / promote sales then investors will
stop watching the news... after all who wants to watch bad news?
