No, I understand that the OS is what manages the whole issue of "Duality"
I don't know about your issue of the RAID board, If you use windows 2k you
don't have to buy a
raid board. and can set up mirror or a three drive set up with parity.  This
would be the fasted IO for you
machine.
Best though to have two separate IO disk controllers though,  The newer
boards have incredible high speed front side
bus's of about 233 Mhz,, that is fast.
