Ben, I have the automatic Critical Update notification installed and
download all security updates immediately. This has never been a problem and
I am reasonably certain that the virus was not tied into the update. As Kent
said however, you must carefully scrutinize the extension of attachments
before you open them or all the security updates in the world will not help.
If you can verify that the attachment is GIF, JPG, JPEG or EML, it is best
not to open it.
