Just as an observation, Norman, that quote iin the link about
Morgan...

"Millionaires don't use Astrology..Billionaires do!" J.P.
                                         Morgan

...has been gracing quite a bit of junk mail into my home recently. My
take on that, having read a bit about the Morgans, is that JP was most
likely joking.

There are a lot of remarks attributed to Pierpont and his son that
were tonque-in-cheek; such as the quote "Stocks Fluctuate". Morgan
hated stocks, he was a bond man. When people would ask him about such
things he would give a glib reply and move on.

My point is, like many other people the creator of that site is apt to
take things out of context to sell newspapers.

By the way, my wife sent thisd to me. Thought you might have

NitPickingly,

--Pat,

He may or may not have been joking. The facts are that Mr. Morgan had one
Evangeline Adams in his employ as his Astrologer. You can find out more
about this
in the book or the movie, "The Day the Bubble Burst". Evangeline Adams was a
nationally
known Astrologer and was one of the first people to have a coast to coast
radio program.
Her private clients were in the top circles of finance including Morgan.
Evangeline Adams
told her clients to sell ahead of the crash of 1929. Adams wrote several
books, so you can get her side of the story. By the way, I own Evangeline
Adams' personal library and memorabilia.
As for the famous quote, I believe the correct quote is, "Millionaire's
don't have Astrologers, billionaire's do". My theory on the quote is based
on the fact that J.P. died with a surprisingly small fortune compared to
the billions of dollars in assets and power he wielded. I think he was
actually acting as agent for the really big money such as the Rothschilds.
The Rothschilds at the turn of the century were known for practically
"owning" the British note market (I think they were called perpetuals?).
The Rothschilds were known for being very astute on their timing which
corresponded to the 41 month business cycle and the aspects of Jupiter -
Uranus ala Donald Bradely By the way, as I previously posted back in March,
we are in one of those periods now, this one is to the upside. .

Thanks,

Norman
