You are reading it correct. If you also plot the ADV and DECL you will see
that there is a race between the two in the first 15 to 60 minutes and then
their ROC tapers off. So the max ROC usually occurs in that first hour and
may fake out the system. In no way am I defending the system as it is too
simplistic for me to trade and takes deep pockets as Mark admits. I coded
other versions using half hour bars and an roc spread that was called the
super charged oddball. In the December Active Trader issue it was described
as a starting point.
