Not that I'm taking sides in this thread but if what we are paying upwards
of 50% of our income in taxes for is the chance to go to a major theater or
some symphony, I say burn them to the ground. I've never been to a major
theater in my life and I don't long to go there either. Those enterprises
should be self supporting anyway, it's not free to go see them I'll bet.
Hospitals aren't free either.

I know that someone is going to tell me that's not what we pay most of our
taxes for, but the logic behind a larger part of the rest is about the same.
Sometimes I wish that the whole system from the schools to the highways had
tole booths, that way you know what you're paying for.
