I am pretty familiar with release 4 of Eurex, which includes the implementation
of the GUI for many of the clearing functions, in addition to the trading GUI. I
think you will find that the transition to the GUI will not be difficult if the
individuals have exposure to a typical Windows or other GUI environment. There
were some difficulty in Europe when the Eurex GUI was first implemented, and many
firms had limited use of PCs. There were a lot of people whose career was based
on being to rapidly move from screen to screen in the old system, creating the
kind of situations that John has mentioned. Adoption of the GUI has been pretty
clean, however, and is considered a big part of the success of Eurex.
