In the not so distant past before Amazon.com, etc. came into being, I bought
many books from Trader's Press and other sources. While Trader's Press was
often the only source for some books, they rarely had the cheapest price.
And in my earliest days, I bought a book written by Ed Dobson about "The One
Rule That Will Make You Money In The Market" (or some similar title). That
book was a complete waste of money. Of course I would now be very skeptical
of a book with such a title. But when you first start out, a book from an
apparently reputable source is very tempting.
I'm not trying to say that Ed is a chronic scamster or thief. But he is a
businessman. As always, buyer beware is the best advice anyone can give
you.
In the current book marketplace, you can easily save 10% to 20% by searching
the net and/or finding various partnerships that booksellers have made. I
wouldn't rely on reviews on Amazon.com. But I will skeptically use them as
input (along with as many other sources as I can find) to determine what
books I buy.
