Hi andrew,
nice initiative!
I am in Europe.
As a private person:
- Used DBC Signal via Panamsat earlier: Ugly and unprofessional. Feed 20 s late
and at least half the ticks missing
- DBC via EutelSat is faster but ticks are still missing.
- FuturesSource is faster also but data is read only, not stored on disk, plus
compatibility pbs with most softs like TradeStation
- CQG: A must for trading futures: top clean data, all ticks, extremely fast.
- Also people here are satisfied with SP Comstock as a feed. Most ticks, only a
few seconds late. However some have problems with TradeStation compatibility,
frequent TS failures.
As a professional. I use:
- CQG, best feed for futures trading
- Bloomberg, best feed for stock quotes and stock data
- Reuters, best for news ticker but so user unfriendly, in fact very shitty.
- An absolute NO GO is Knight Ridder Bridge Telerate whatever their name now is
with TradeStation: They plot data on sundays, miss days, miss ticks, unreliable
feed, always down, don't understand customers concerns. FORGET ABSOLUTELY if
your money is worth something to you.
Lastly, I don't recommend net based feeds as you never now what your lag is.
With satellite, at least you know how far back you are on a constant basis.
Best to you,
Gwenn
