Hi RT's,
Some time ago, someone mentioned Gecko Charts and wondered if their charting
program was for real. My IB sells the charting package on his own website
and also has a link to their site, where you can get a demo of the program.
Great little package w/free EOD data, historical CD-ROM, and it computes all
the point values profits/losses for futures trades (nice for those new to
trading). Great for papertrading and backtesting, of course - apparently
aimed at newbies, but looks like it's a decent EOD package for those with
experience as well. I don't think it allows you to program your own stuff,
which would be the only shortcoming. Pricewise (for the features), I think
it's hard to beat. My IB's link is www.absolute-futures.com if you want to
check it out - I think you'll find it by clicking on "Educational
Resources".
Speaking of charting programs, does anyone remember one called "One Day at a
Time" (ODAT)? Did they ever make a Windows version, and are they still
around? I have the old MS-DOS version, and I'd like to step into the 1990's
and get it in Win 95/98 if possible.
Have a great weekend,
Dennis C.
