Subject: [RT] Re: remember Saddam
OK, OK, maybe I will shock you with my geopolitical view: Much depends
on
the US presidential election. The reason that China wants Gore to win is
they own Gore. They know he will not oppose China militarily. If Bush
wins,
the calculations run somewhere else, unless they succeed in buying him
too.
China also needs Gore because they know he will be a disaster for the US
economy and military strength. A weak US cannot oppose China's hegemony.
Cannot oppose N Korea when they overrun the south. Cannot defend Japan
and
keep her in the western economy. Cannot secure the Philippines. A weak
US
will allow China to succeed where Japan failed.
China does not need a naval fleet to defend herself. No one wants to
invade
China from the sea. China only needs a navy to force herself on other
nations. Say, Taiwan. Same as US, really.
And just so Mr. Moderator won't be mad at me, this goes directly to my
either/or scenario for the prospects of the global economy a year or so
from
now. History is clear that uncontained despotism is much more disruptive
and
costly than contained despotism.
Unfortunately, no geopoliticians were injured in the making of this
email.
Shockingly,
Michael

| The (not so) humourous scenario.
|
| 1. China launches an attack on Taiwan.
|
| 2. America intervenes.
|
| 3. World markets go to hell with fear of nuclear war.
|
| 4. Robert Prechter declares his vindication.
|
| The historical hedge.
|
| 1. Guns and gold.
|
| 2. But being from Canada, I suppose I'll have to forego the former
and
| settle for the latter.
