Only two problems of any significance...

They jerked me around on the contract... salesman (who was very pushy to
start with) told me it was a one year contract, then 30-day after (same as
BMI). I was too dense to read the fine print, which says "yearly contract"
only (renews to another yearly contract). I pushed back at the end of the
first year, and they wouldn't budge. I was subscribing to options at the
time, and had a job, so figured I could cancel the options (end of the first
year contract) and save $20/month. When I did that, I was told nothing
about the contract... and when I called back two weeks later to change my
mind, they said, OOPS, too bad, you already cancelled, if you start over
now, it's a brand new contract. I was pretty pissed and told them so, and
they actually did let me restart the options. DBC sure never would have
done that.

The other problem was technical... my receiver started droning out after
market close, resulting in significant periods of no incoming data. And
many intraday bars in many markets were bad. I talked to tech support (got
thru immediately) and they first sent a new satellite horn, and when that
didn't work, they sent out a new receiver... OVERNITE! Fixed my problem as
quickly as I could reasonably have expected.

DTN suffers from the belief that most of their clients are farmers looking
for grain quotes... they seem to struggle sometimes to keep up with the
technical curve. On the other hand, I understand that they will be
upgrading their system this July and putting all options customers on a
different satellite... with a separate channel just for options! (They
already broadcast their news on a separate channel.) Contrast that with the
last-century-mindset at DBC... jam everything into one channel and hope some
of it gets thru. Talk about short of the curve.

Hope this helps...
