Overseas Follow Through Likely Tonight...(02-14-00)
As others on the RT Forum know,..my focus is on
short term trading of no load mutual funds. We are
set up here very favorably to go long at today's close
one of the International type growth funds,...(the higher
technology weighting in the portfolio) the better. Why?
Asia was down last night,..(HKong -500 pts,...Nikkei -153)
Europe was hit hard in highfliers Telecomm, Media, and
Technology highfliers...AND WHEN EUROPE CLOSED AT
11:30 AM est THE NASDAQ WAS AT IT'S LOWS ...down
around 125 points. Since then the OTC NASDAQ has rallied
and is up 17 points. ( A move of 142 points off it's lows,...AS
YET UNSEEN BY EUROPEAN TECHS. So buying into an
International Growth fund at tonight's close (which also is priced
as of the previous cash closes in overseas markets, etc),...is a
low risk trade for a one or more day gain,..etc. A one day pop of
+ 2 % is entirely likely, downside risk very limited. Just my opinion.
Some funds I like that should do well tonight include:
STISX, TWIEX, AEPGX, CUIEX,...etc...basically any
International Growth type fund with a good weighting in
Telecomm,...Technology,..etc.
Regards, JIM
