I believe the source of the virus was from a company named AllAdvantage.com.
Am trying to update the virus scanner and will try Clyde's ZoneLab program
to make sure things are cleaned up. Also will uninstall some things. The
problems started after downloading something from that company that messes
with the java scripts, cookies, browser, etc. . Fortunately my computers
operation does not seem to be affected as the ps2 and ts4 are still honking
along. Nothing else seems to be disturbed yet. Maybe its a wakeup call for
protection. Come to think of it I did receive a strange message yesterday.
I had been working on an Apple LC for a friend that had an account with GTE.
She could not get logged on so I changed the configuration for my email
stuff at earthlink to check her email and computer. Then I sent myself some
email from her Mac and received it on my IBM. In the message there was
something that looked like a lot of repeated rejections from the
applenetwork.
