Status:
Pete,
I don't use the holiday file, haven't for years. I work with calendar days
only. Weekends and holidays mean nothing to me, as I seem to get better
results using calendar days only.
My date format is mm/dd/yyyy set within win98, so that is probably the
reason I've encountered no problems at all with Nature's Pulse, or more
correctly, the parts of the program that I use.
02/04/2000 shows as a Friday for me, and no problems with any weekly charts
at all.
The problem for you "MAY" be your computer or operating system. Logically,
if the program works for me with my set-up, it should work for everyone if
their computer and operating system are y2k compliant. I'm using a recently
purchased Dell laptop P3 450 mhz with 128 megs of ram and win 98 (second
edition). Nature's Pulse also works well on an old P1 200mmx with win95.
Hope this helps
Peter

Pete
In order to make Nature's Pulse workable all dates must be in the mm/dd/yyyy
configuration. Apparently NP does not recognize dates past 12/31/1999 in the
two digit year configuration (i.e. mm/dd/yy). The last date in my Holiday
file is 12/24/99. Since the Holiday file is in the two year digit format you
can't add dates to it past 2000. To deal with holidays in the future I
guess I must add the closing price of previous day before the Holiday to the
O,H,L,&C price fields on the Holiday. As for future days of the week
matching with the correct date, NP seems to work fine (e.g. it says that
04/04/2000 falls on a Tuesday). In addition NP seems to work fine on a
weekly basis.
I'm more concerned with the email saying the Nature's Pulse people called
the program flawed. This seems odd because they have made some pretty
spectacular calls. Can anyone else comment on this?
