Hi Warren,
I opened a trial account with LW last summer and was extremely
dissatisfied. I started with LindConnect, which had a very nice feature
set, but I found the reliability and speed of the web server to be poor
(kept losing it's place or server would shut down) and support never
responded to my notes. I downloaded and installed LindOnLine but found
it lacked a number of what I consider to be essential features - as I
remember the biggie was inability to prepare and park orders. The nail
in the coffin at LW was the excruciatingly slow fill reports, even bonds
routinely took 30-60 minutes. I finally closed the account. I've opened
trial accounts with a number of online brokers but so far, LeoWeb has
been the best in overall performance, features, and fill speed.
Of course, things do change - at one time I was extremely dissatisfied
with LeoWeb due to constant reliability issues between LeoWeb and
TOPS/CUBS and those problems have greatly diminished. As I remember,
LindConnect did not support the entry of orders into
Globex/ProjectA/Access. If things have changed radically, I'd like to
hear more.
There seems to be some confusion regarding my requirement for entry of
orders into Globex/ProjectA/Access. With LeoWeb I can enter orders into
Globex2 for immediate execution during night hours. With ProjectA and
Access, orders can be entered at night but the orders are not executed
until the pit session opens with the alternative being calling a night
desk.
I got caught in what could have been a very nasty and costly situation
in bonds due to combination of a) the inability to enter my own orders
directly into ProjectA, b) phone broker not knowing how to immediately
enter my bond order into ProjectA with a screw-up occurring in the
resulting confusion and c) the inability to view my account position in
real-time. I wish to rectify that situation.
Earl
