Jay, (& other PMB lab rats <like myself>)

As of last week, and hopefully unrelated to other problems they are having
(which are mostly Timberhill originated I am told), PMB changed the "time
out" "feature" to log you off after 4 hours if no orders have been placed.

When I started it was every 30 minutes, then, once an hour, so even though
it is not perfect, every 4 hours (on days where you have no transactions) is
alot better. Not perfect. but better.

I lobbied hard for that one! I'm sure many of you also did too! And it was
some relief to be able to focus on the trades more recently, as opposed to
endlessly re-logging in, or dicovering the trade you wanted to make passed
by because they had logged us off.

It is now on the 4 hour schedule, and works, as long as they are not busy
crashing due to other inadequacies.

I was told the Timberhill disconnect had to do with the fact that
Timberhill's server is dropping the connection, they say because
Timberhill's Interactive Broker is now offering stock trading execution,
which has "gone ballistic" according to Timberhill.

Sounds like a resource issue to me.

On a more positive note, I am also told they are developing a backup API to
Lind Waldock, which will, in their words "eliminate their (total) dependence
on Timberhill".

If that's the problem, lets hope it does! Its due in January.

Have a good weekend!
