Hello, my 2 cents worth.
The best direct software is great. It gives you a real-time running value
of your account and each position. You can exit at market with one click.
You don’t even have to set up the order, just hit the exit at market. If
you are short or long the program will put in the right order. It will
also show you your percent win for all your trades. This helps to keep
things in perspective if you are having a bad day.
You can also park order and “flash” them with a click. It will also take
stop, stop limit, limit and MIT orders.
If you are going to use the bestdirect software call Global futures. I
work with Mike Naim, (one of the owners) He is very flexible with margins
and will give day traders a lot of leeway. (Just be responsible!) Mike also
offers several different desks for the SP (and bonds) depending on your size
and the service level you need. Direct to the floor, discount, commercial,
boutique and on line, whatever you need he can help. Of course all us
markets are coverd as well.

Ps. Mike and his team have been in the business for a while. They are an
IB of PFG so you are working directly with the company that manages
BestDriect. Rifler has not been around that long. Keep in mind that
Rifler has changed software three times in the last 18 months. That is to
much instability for me.
