<DIV><FONT size=2>I received this request from a close friend that would like
some feedback on software that goes by the name of Indigo.&nbsp; I told him I
would post his request on RT and forward all responces.&nbsp; I am totally
unfamiliar with it.&nbsp; Anyone have actual experience with Indigo and customer
support?&nbsp; This is what he wrote to me:</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2>"What do you know about Indigo software?&nbsp; I spent about a
half hour on the phone with one of their sales guys and he took me through the
demo etc.&nbsp; I was extremely impressed with the system overall as it is a
highly optimized expert system that generates simple buy/sell signals based on
your stocks.&nbsp; I understand the indicators can be tweaked and combined as
well.&nbsp; Some of the back tested results were absolutely
staggering!!<BR><BR>The problem is in the fact that they sell this package for
$3,200 and they do not offer a trial period or any recourse if you don't like it
upon buying it.&nbsp; They do offer a payment plan which you could probably send
the SW back and be out the initial $700 down payment.<BR><BR>I would like to
hear you thoughts on this system as well as I would encourage you to go through
the demo to see how this compares to what you have seen throughout the
years.&nbsp; It's probably not suited to your trading as it is not RT and does
not trade indexes, but could possibly be fooled I would guess.&nbsp; <BR><BR>Br
- I need to get a system that is easy to use and produces buy/sell signals much
like the Indigo program but I have a very hard time in plunking down $3k+
without a guarantee.&nbsp; They don't sound like they will budge here
either.&nbsp; Please help dude and let me know you thoughts on this one.&nbsp;
Thanks much in advance.<BR><BR>Rich"<BR><BR><A

Dr OEX passed on this gem of a piece of trading info a few days ago.

"This results in an interesting and usually controversial
trading phenomenon ........ which has lately generated a great many
profitable trading signals. It appears lately that when short term
actual vol. of an instrument exceeds the implied vol. in the options of
that instrument the underlying almost always rallies "

This works great and is easy to follow if you have access to realtime
options quotes and volatility analytic. I had some time to try to
generalize this idea and use the VIX with a calculation of the actual OEX
volatility (calculated from the daily high and low. (as I mentioned it is
only a generalization). I subtracted this volatility figure from the VIX
(converted to get a daily volatility number). This gave me the
difference from the actual and the implied Vol. The result is the
attached chart. The chart is not confirming the recent move up in the
OEX. I am suspect of this rally being able to sustain itself.
