Norman,
Apple had an opportunity to compete with Microsoft but made the strategic
error not making there operating system availasble to software developers
wheras Microsoft did. The result was that Microsoft took over the market,
not because they wrere monopolistic, but because they made the right
business decision.The battle was fought and won where it should be , in the
marketplace. You are still free to buy a Mac you just don't have much choice
of software to run onit. As I see it, we have all benefited from that . PC'c
are still less expensive them Macs and perform just fine.
