Hello Ben:

I have been following your challenge for the past few days. I
day trade for a living, but do it on a trading floor. Often I end up with
positions that are spread over night, but the majority of my positions are day
trades. I have been doing this strictly for my own account for the past 18
years, and during that time have never had a monthly draw down. Also during that
time, I have only had 22 loosing weeks, and these have not been major. I have
not yet burnt out financially, and thank the Lord for my success. My point here
is that many people do day trade and do it very well. There are also situations
where taking over night positions are justified. For agricultural traders, there
are many opportunities for long term spread positions. These are just different
facets of our business. Ultimately it comes down to experience and skill, and
the ability to recognize relationships and situations that occur again and
again. On a trading floor these occur many times during the day, and can be
taken advantage of.

Day trading is possible, is viable, and is a great way to make
a living for some traders. IT IS NOT FOR ALL TRADERS. Each of us are different,
in our ability to handle risk, and our ability to recognize profit centers in
markets.

There is a giant river of MONEY flowing by each and every one
of our doors every day. It is up to us to fashion some type of container to
scoop up what we need. For some it is a thimble, for others a pumping station.
Regardless of what the container is made of, or it's size, all that matters is
that it exists. And we can all with diligent hard work increase the size of that
container (if we want to).
