of a rusty connector on the house the service has been as reliable as a modem
hook through Sprint etc. Today I did have one 10 sec outage with PC Quote
Realtime III. Usually I go weeks without that happening. PMBe was
having connection problems today for me. I shorted the market at the right
time this morning for a 6 point move but the server didnot accept my
order. Then during the day the refreshing of the order icon was having
lots of problems refreshing and on a couple of orders the ordering Icon was a
bit slower that usual. I noticed in the last 4 weeks the down time on PMBe
is getting worse or the internet is having more problems. I'm hoping to be
able to stay with the electronic service with both PCQuote and PMBe. Just
occurred to me that I should send PMBe a copy to make sure they get the message
get back to the level of service of a few months ago.

Terry, I cannot comment on trading the S&P. I can
comment on my experience with E-Signals internet service. In July, I
signed up for E-signal. I could only get quote pages operating. I
could not access charting on 10-minute delay, which is a direct function of
having a quote page. This fact stumped many of their techs. I
spent enough time on the phone with them to qualify for their payroll.
Literally 2 weeks and 8 technicians later, someone at E-Signal had me perform
a Trace Route through the MS DOS PROMPT. There I got to see various
"hops" along the way from my ISP (which is IDT out of NY) to my
computer. Apparently the numbers reflect a delay in time from hop to hop
to hop. According to the E-Signal tech my ISP was inadequate and
therefore I would have better luck with pigeons and notes, in terms of getting
consistent reliable charts. So I was left with either canceling the
service or paying for the most expensive 10-minute delayed quote service known
to man. I also signed up for Ensign, but without the information flowing
seamlessly from E-Signals data manager to Ensign, the third party software was
useless. Whether I subscribed to a Real Time or Delayed service, my
internet connection would have been the same. Can you trade the S&P
off of E-Signal's internet service? I couldn't keep a delayed chart on
the screen. My next option will be to look at Cable services. Does
anyone have any suggestions? -James

This was sent to me I found I was not setup and I suspect others are ,
also.
The Y2K patches for TradeStation 4.0 and SuperCharts, as well as
OptionStation 1.2 have been announced by Omega Research and are
availabel
on their web site for downloading at http://www.omegaresearch.com.
However, your computer may not be properly set for the 4 digit year date
that these patches take advantage of. Check your date settings and
change
them as necessary with the following tip:
The following is Windows Y2K information. For those of you running
Windows, this is a fix for a small Y2K problem. If you have not done
this, you should do it since this default date format feeds application
software. It is worth changing...
TEST:
Click on "START"
Click on "SETTING"
Click on "CONTROL PANEL"
Double click on "REGIONAL SETTINGS" icon
Click on the "DATE" tab at the top of the page.
Where it says, "Short Date Sample," look and see if it shows a "two
digit"
year (yy). That is the default setting for Windows 95, Windows 98 and
NT.
This date RIGHT HERE is the date that feeds application software and
WILL
NOT rollover in the year 2000. It will roll over to 00.
Click on the "SHORT DATE STYLE" pull down menu and select the option
that
shows, mm/dd/yyyy. (Be sure your selection has four Y's showing and not
two.)
Click on "APPLY" and then click on "OK" at the bottom.
