Gen: TS4 & TS2K Lab Experiment..

Dear Fellow Listers,

Because I must be a masochist, I decided to try to load TS 2000 on the same
box I have successfully run TS 4 for over a year.

And to my great surprise, it actually loaded without a hitch. And updated
all my TS 4 indicators etc.

However, (you knew this was coming), since I am an S&P day trader, and the
only contract I track that has been open in the last 72 hours has been
Sunday night's Globex Overnight S&P session, I eagerly awaited confirmation
that the package would track it properly.

Well, sad to say, it didn't. Now in all fairness, perhaps it is something I
have done (or not done). This is not likely, but possible.

Anyway, the interesting question here is based on the fact that I have 2
live data feeds at the moment. I've been with FutureSource but am changing
over to eSignal online for reasons we won't go into at present. Coming into
the same CPU therefore, for the next 30 days, I have FutureSource via
satellite feeding into TS 4.0, and eSignal Online via the net feeding into
TS2000.

Would anyone venture a guess as to whether these two will run properly "at
the same time" on the same PII/NT 300mhz CPU sharing the same security
block? It would make a fascinating side by side experiment, if it works.

At the moment, I've had them both open overnight, along with their
respective servers & data managers, and the TS 4.0 tracked last nights
Globex session perfectly, while TS2000 did not, giving me only a single bar
and some very fucked up dates & times on the x axis. Then, when I saw the
bad TS2K data this AM, I closed and reopened TS2K. It produced an
application error and wouldn't launch till I restarted the CPU.

It opens now, though I am running it alone. TS4 seems to have been
unaffected by this whole experience. I opened it just to check, and then
closed it before reopening TS2K.

As well, the servers and respective data managers all seem to be coexisting
peacefully.

It's "almost" a wonderful world, isn't it?!

Any insights anyone?

Thanks for your input in advance!

Eliot
