Joanie:
Everyone who trades has something to contribute. Either their successes or their
failures can be a learning experience. I have doing this for over 30 years and I
still learn something everyday. Many times from the so called newbie who asks
the simple question that stumps you. A holier the thou attitude can cost one a
lot of money. As can being stubborn, having an opinion and being unable to
change it, or defending a position in the face of the obvious.
There are many systems presented on this forum, most of which I consider
ridiculous for me to attempt using. Norman uses astrology, he is apparently
successful with it. I would lose my shirt using it. It doesn't fit what I need
in a trading system. Moving averages, MACD, Bollinger bands, Momentum, on balance
volume, Fib numbers, support - resistance, are all methods of looking at the
market. I have seen all of the above touted at one time or another. Does that
mean it will work for you? NO!!!!! Everyone must find what allows them, as
individuals, to see what is happening in the markets they choose to trade. Di
Napoli uses fib numbers, I don't like them. Does that make him wrong? No. They
work for him and those that use them successfully.
Read and digest what is put forth in this forum. Spit out what doesn't fit your
style, temperament or psychological bent and see if what is left will benefit
you. I have tried about everything and found what will generate profits for me.
I believe that is all that counts.
I will comment when I read about somebody doing something I consider stupid, like
selling naked options. That is my right. To ridicule someone I disagree with is
not. They have as much right to express an opinion as I have, and who knows, I
might learn something worth while.
Have a good week end all. Ira.
