Would appreciate some feedback with reference to market order fills in
the
S@x 500 futures with Direct Floor Access.>>>
to determine the quality of a given fill>>
Donna:
You can easily evaluate the quality and speed of your fills by getting a
free 1 wk trial of LOS Squawk <http://los.net/>. There is only a 1/2
second delay at the most, and you know exactly what the bid/ask is, so
you can tell how long it takes to transmit, run or signal, then trade
your order.
However, be aware that there is a huge difference between direct to
floor access and direct to pit access. Direct to floor still has to
depend upon a printer printing the order, a runner or signaler getting
the order into the pit, and the pit broker making the trade. Direct to
pit is much faster, as the order goes directly to a pit broker's cubs
terminal, the trade is made and you get the fill in 10 seconds. Again,
you can see how well they are doing by using LOS Squawk. This operates
as closely to the emini as is possible with open outcry. The only firm
I know that has direct to pit access is LFG and their IBs. I use
NetFutures. (No association with either company). Whatever you get,
check it out with LOS confirmation of speed (no assoc with them
either). For me, the speed is of an essence, as it is the only way for
me to compete with the piranha in the pit that are our main enemies in
spoo scalping.
Take care, (and don't let the piranha get you).
