I'd definitely recommend going for the 21". A single 21" is a lot better
than 2 - 17" because it is very hard to view 2- 17" monitors simultaneously.
You'll also appreciate its increased real estate over a 19". Furthermore,
you can run a decent 21" at 1600x1200 resolution while still having
everything being visible. With regard to the video card, 8 megs should be
more than satisfactory. Memory on the video card for 2D stuff mostly
relates to the number of colors you can display, which for trading
applications is very small, compared to a graphics pro that would want to
display photo images, etc.. The more important spec to look at is the
ramdac I believe (220mhz or higher). When you are running ultra high
resolutions, video card quality is important, so don't skimp on quality.
Matrox has long been the leader in high res 2D business type applications,
and would be a good choice.
