I like your word 'cultural'. My quesiton is whether this cultural
influence really has anything to do with the full moon, and instead is
caused by blue moons only occurring at the end of the month, and more
likely in 31 day months than 30 day months.

I am also intrigued by comments that blue moons are not like full moons
-- perhaps that is simply because they are less powerful, not more...
