I'm looking into the possibility of setting up a website which
would provide real-time data/charts at a substantial discount to services
commonly supplied through satellite, etc. Before I get very far into this
however, I'd appreciate some feedback on the legal requirements - mostly from
the point of view of exchanges, data vendors, etc. If, for example, I were to
pay all the exchange fees for the data, would it be a legal requirement to then
charge each subscriber the same fee again? I imagine it would be, but if anyone
has any input on this or any other aspect of the concept (particularly in a
legal vein), I'd appreciate it. Email me privately if you prefer.

It seems to me that data and exchange fees are excessive,
considering the number of subscribers to such services. If it's possible to
increase the availability of information through more reasonable prices, and
still do it in a dependable way that's profitable, it's something worth
pursuing. I don't begrudge anyone making a profit, but if I could find a data
provider that's as dependable and significantly less expensive
than the usual choices, I'd sign up in a heartbeat - and I suspect there are
many others who would do the same. I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this,
and I'm sure there are several reasons it doesn't exist - I'd like to find out
why. It seems to me there are brokerages that supply real-time quotes online at
no cost to clients (I could be wrong about that), so why is this idea not
feasible?

I looked into the idea of becoming a real time data vendor
once. There are significant costs and problems associated with it. It costs
about $10000 per month to get access to satellite distribution. Dedicated phone
lines etc. can cost thousands of dollars per month too and you need to have data
from all the exchanges. Manyu traders wont use an on line service because they
are not always dependable. There are more hurdles to jump as well but I asked
myself one day as I was checking this out. Just why don't other corporations
jump into this "lucrative" business they have far greater resources
than I. There are relatively few RT vendors out there and I expect for a good
reason. I suggest that you answer that question then go from there.

Has anyone seen this "system." Does it have any value, or is the real money
made from gullible wannabees, like me.
To order your "StockNet II" system, on a blank piece of paper write your

it along with a check for $29 payable to JLR Inc. ( there are no shipping
charges) to: JLR Inc. 2100 Constitution Blvd., Suite 121, Sarasota, Florida
34231. Or you can order "StockNet II" by credit card on a SECURE Web site at
https://www.gta-tech.com/netorderform.asp?merchantid=2046 . (Please note:
This server can, at times, be very busy.) You can also fax your order to
