I have been reading about all the disasters that have been occurring and have
stayed away from that type of trading and decided that it is not for me at this
time. I like the phone and hearing the noise in the pit when I call in my
orders. I like writing down the ticket numbers, getting a confirmation, and
knowing that it is on tape if there is an argument, and there have been some,
and checking my trades at days end to confirm that everything is as it should
be. My brokerage firm has just started an electronic trading system that uses
CUBS, Timber Hill, TOPS, GLOBEX and Direct Flash Fills. I am being tempted.
