Re: Comments on Prophet data service?

Mark,

I've used Prophet up to this weekend to download about 7000 daily stock
prices and have had many problems with speed. Sometimes the download takes
an hour and half and other times it has taken over 3 hours.

The price is right at $10 a month (for equities), but if you need to do
scans at night, you may as well forget it. Seems like it would be good for
anyone doing weekly analysis.

This week i'm starting to use Reuter's RTD. It's a little more expensive at
$24.95 per month but they say their downloads only take 5 minutes for that
much equity data and they will automatically correct previously downloaded
data, something Prophet doesn't do.

The only downside is I can't download it directory into my Windows on
WallStreet software. I'll have to import it and don't know how long this
will take.
