            Hi David,

            You are correct, but Internet Explorer comes with a separate
browser for e-mail called Outlook Express.  The two programs can be run
separately as you suggest but share common files.  If you try to read mail
while the Internet browser is open it launches Outlook Express and if you
try to use Outlook Express without Explorer it will not function properly
(Explorer does not have to be the default browser, just on the computer).
Netscape Navigator has a similar feature.  I didn't bother to go into this
in my original post because both programs come bundled together and if you
are upgrading one you get the other.

            As for a browser crashing Trade Station, that eliminates on line
trading unless you have a separate computer, in which case why would you
risk checking e-mail on the Trade Station computer?  That really shows the
weakness of Trade Station.  Every day I run Explorer with my broker's site
loaded (I can even launch a second browser to surf the net if I'm board),
down load real time tick data from Interquote, Chart the data with Investor
R/T, receive Internet pages with a program called Ding, and read and send
e-mail with Outlook Express all at the same time.  I use a clunky old 100
mh. Pentium with 64 meg. ram and a 56k, v90. modem and it NEVER CRASHES.
