RT's:
I've been fooling around with the concept of splitting my DBC
Signal Data stream to go to either two separate Application
Programs or two separate PC's. I'm quite happy to go whichever
way the process works.
I want to run both TradeStation 4.0 and an old but venerable DOS
Version of Signal which is really alot nicer than it's newer
Windows versions.
I've located a source of various levels of Serial Data Signal
Splitters, from the really cheap and cheerful for about $19.99
all the way up to more sophisticated "Intelligent" Com Server
Signal Device Data-Line Sharing Devices that can cost as much as
$700.00.
I've already tried a Rube Goldberg device and it sort of worked,
The old Dos Signal Proggie loaded and worked fine, TS4 also
loaded and sort of worked but There was some kind of minor
intermittant conflict between TS4 & Signal.
So I'm really interested in feedback on the following:
Has anyone out there sucessfully done this and how? What kind of
hardware was used? Which Application Programs were used? Were
there any special "tricks" in configuring, loading, and running
the Application Programs to keep them from conflicting??
Did you succeed with the Rube Goldberg $19.95 devices, or did you
have to use the more expensive Gizmos.
Does anyone have some of the DBC Specs on the Way DBC Signal Data
is transmitted? Is it Polled data? What kind of Flow control is
used? Does anyone know where those kind of specs can be obtained?
If I do succeed I'll post my results to RT.
TIA
