Try this one on for size.
If I toss a pair of dice 50 times I would expect to get an average of 7
The difference between the high toss and lo toss will be 12-2=10
A standard deviation is just a mathematical expression to divide that range of
10 into standard units. it is called a standard deviation because we want to
measure the difference in our current toss to the average(7) and make that
measurement in standard units.
