         INVESTOR SENTIMENT SURVEY

                 7 / 6 / 98

------------------------------------------------

Below are the results of our weekly "Guess the Dow" sentiment survey. The
survey was taken from 6/29 through 7/5 on our web site.

Number of participants: 307

30 day outlook:

54 % bullish, 61% last week
27 % bearish, 19% last week
20 % neutral, 19% last week

(percentages may not sum to 100 due to rounding)

Median guess for the DJIA closing value on Friday, 7/10: 9115 (it was 8994
last week). More complete sentiment data is available at
<http://www.lowrisk.com/sentiment.htm> .

Bullish sentiment dropped 7% from very high levels. Bearish sentiment rose
8%, while the neutral camp remained almost unchanged. With the DJIA up 90
points last week and the SP500 at all time highs, we find a drop in bullish
sentiment to be surprising. This looks to us like a pretty clear buy signal
from the sentiment front.
